The Best Time of Day to Water Your Orchid

Caring for Orchids can feel intimidating.

There are many questions about exactly how to do it. In the end, caring for your Orchid is a matter of finding just the right amount of water and light that will keep your Orchid happy and blooming as long as possible.

This is why the absolute best time to water your Orchid is in the morning.

One of the most frequent mistakes with Orchid care is overwatering. Too much water can lead to root rot, overwhelming the roots so that they can no longer feed the stems and blooms with the needed nutrients.

When we water in the morning, we give our Orchid an entire day to fully evaporate any excess water before the night time,so it is not sitting on any excess water overnight.

When watering your orchid, make sure that the grow pot fully drains any excess water before returning to the decorative container. You can also try tilting the grow pot right before returning it, as there can be some additional water remaining there.

As far as how often to water your orchid, generally it will be about once a week.

Please note that some Orchids like Espressos may require more frequent watering. Swan orchids will need to be watered every two weeks. The watering method itself will vary whether you have a Phalaenopsis Orchid or a Garden Orchid. Learn the step-by-step Orchid care tips for your orchid right here.
