The secret to indirect light for your orchid

Having just the right amount of light for your orchid is essential to keep it healthy and blooming.

When you first bring your orchid home, we recommend that you find a spot where it receives indirect light.

What does indirect light mean? It’s a spot where it receives some light, but that the light from the sun is not too direct and strong.

There’s an easy way to tell if the light your orchid is receiving is just right. Place your hand underneath the flowers and leaves. Is the shadow on your hand clear and defined?

If so, the light is too strong and you should move the plant.

If the shadow is blurry, then the light is indirect and your orchid should do well in that spot.

Remember that if your orchid receives too much light, it can dehydrate or burn the plant.

Enjoy your happy orchid!
